Engineer, IC Design
Ayar Labs is revolutionizing computing by moving data with light, and they are seeking an Engineer, IC Design to develop subsystems in an electro-optical system-on-chip. The role involves working with a small IC development team to create electrical and optical components, automate design methodologies, and debug custom silicon.

Responsibilities
Develop electrical and optical components, circuits, and systems as part of a silicon design team
Automate and improve design methodologies and/or test flows
Bring-up, evaluation, and debug of in-house custom silicon using python scripting, firmware, and control systems
Hands-on work with high-speed interconnects and optical systems
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields
Proficient in Python or other scripting languages
Proficient in working with hardware in lab environments
Familiar with integrated circuits and systems
Preferred
Hands-on experience working and interacting with digital SoCs
Knowledge of low-level programming languages (C, C++), microcontroller platforms
Experience with chip tapeouts and new silicon bring-up
Working knowledge of Verilog, digital timing, and ASIC tool flows
Working knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso design environment
Some knowledge of optics, photonics, or control systems
