As an Estimator 2, you will assist in the development of cost estimates for complex heavy civil construction projects while working under the guidance of experienced estimators, contributing to various tasks and projects to meet high standards and client expectations.

Responsibilities
Thoroughly review bid documents, plans, specifications, and project scope to accurately assess project requirements
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for various project elements utilizing industry standard software
Assist in the development of detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software
Collaborate with estimating team members to brainstorm and develop cost effective solutions to project challenges
Assist in the preparation of CPM project schedules
Conduct project site visits to gather necessary data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs
Develop CAD drawings depicting construction methodology concepts
Stay updated on industry trends, construction costs, and emerging technologies
Achieve or exceed budgets individual utilization targets
Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
Ensure projects comply with ISO standards
Qualification
Required
0-2 Years of experience within the heavy civil industry
Bachelor's degree Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Good communication and technical writing skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
Preferred
Previous internships or work experience in this industry
Working knowledge of cost estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid or similar)
Working knowledge of common industry quantity takeoff software (Bluebeam Revu or similar)
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software
AutoCAD or MicroStation experience
