Responsibilities

Install telematics devices on heavy equipment in the field. Requiring the use of hand tools to gain access, Understanding of wiring diagrams, Splicing and building wiring harnesses, updating of flash files, and PC configuration

Repair telematics devices on heavy equipment in the field to include firmware

Upgrade or replace telematics components on heavy equipment in the field to include the flashing of ECM firmware

Troubleshoot and test telematics components on heavy equipment in the field to include the flashing of ECM firmware

Training others on how to test repair and replace telematics components on heavy equipment in the field to include the flashing of ECM firmware

Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards

Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

More than one year of telematic devices repair experience required

Must have a valid driver license

Safe driving record

Knowledge of current CAT computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems

Must have Caterpillar machine technical experience

Basic mechanical knowledge and related tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

Ability to operate multiple sizes and brands of heavy equipment to include motor graders, dozers, loaders, skid steers, asphalt trimmers, rock mills, and paving systems

Ability to disassemble and repair various electronic systems related to machine technology products

Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams

Ability to build and pinout cables

Excellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work

Excellent customer service skills

Verbal and written communication skills

Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures

Effective influencing skills include teaching, motivating, and developing customers and employees

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong computer skills and the ability to work in Microsoft Office Word, Excel

Valid Driver's License required with a safe driving history

Preferred

Three or more years of telematic devices repair experience preferred

CAT machinery repair experience and or related equipment is preferred experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Additional technical training and/or Associates Degree in related field preferred
