Adjunct Instructor- Biology/Microbiology/Anatomy and Physiology (Pool)

Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is responsible for overseeing public higher education in Tennessee, and they are seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology. The role involves delivering quality instruction through various modalities and ensuring compliance with college policies and guidelines.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned
Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required
Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract
Regularly check your VSCC email and your departmental mailbox
Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend
Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar
Complete required College trainings
Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines
Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class
Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean
Comply with all of the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Master's degree in BiologyGraduate coursework in MicrobiologyCollegiate level teaching experienceInstructional delivery modesMicrosoft Office proficiencyEffective communicationCooperative teamwork

Required

Master's degree from an accredited institution plus 18 graduate hours in Biology
Microbiology also requires some coursework in microbiology at the graduate level as well as good sterile technique and the ability to demonstrate and teach those skills

Preferred

Collegiate level teaching experience
