New Grad, Entry LevelThe Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) serves as a regional catalyst for economic transformation. The Nondestructive Testing Lab Technician will support the NDT instructors for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program, assisting with lab preparation and supporting students in the lab.
Education
Responsibilities
Support the NDT instructors for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program
Assist with lab preparation for an accelerated, short-term training program
Support students in the lab
Inventory of material
Lab set-up and tear-down
Monitor consumables
Provide overall support to the ATDM program
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Creative thinking/Problem solving attitude
Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Shop safety
Technical math, including trigonometry
Visual Testing (VT)
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
Radiographic Testing (RT)
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Radiation Safety
Microsoft Office & General Computer Skills
Preferred
NAVSEA equivalence per T9074-AS-GIB-010/27
Experience training and/or teaching in NDT or a related field
Experience in submarine industrial base
Familiarity with NAVSEA Technical Publications as they relate to the current requirements of the defense industrial base
Experience with NDT of welds
