Responsibilities
Performs cardiac and vascular procedures for the evaluation of cardiac and vascular disease, in the diagnostics department or other areas of the hospital as needed
Explains procedure to patient and answers questions or concerns
Obtains pertinent medical history prior to exam
Obtains appropriate data and calculations and prepares data for interpreting physician
Perform imaging in PACS environment including digitizing films for viewing, interpretation and storage on PACS
When necessary, contacts and consults with ordering physician to assure appropriateness of procedure ordered, as well as provide immediate results when requested by ordering physician
Maintains knowledge of current diagnostic techniques and procedures
Transports patients
Qualification
Required
Registered via the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDCS) and/or (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
Completion of an approved ultrasound program specializing in cardiac sonography and vascular sonography or one year cardiac sonography and vascular sonography experience
Self-discipline
Excellent communication skills
A high degree of personal motivation
Excellent teamwork skills
Basic knowledge of technical factors and normal and abnormal anatomy
Knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned service area

Experience Carotid - Arterial - Venous - Stress Echo - TEE
