Controls Service Technician

Ainsworth Inc is an integrated multi-trade company offering end-to-end services for asset maintenance. The Controls Service Technician is responsible for the start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Automatic Temperature Control systems, utilizing their knowledge of electronics and control techniques.

Responsibilities

Responsible for day to service assignments to various customers site. At times performing upgrades and service projects requiring end to end testing, program loading, start-up, commissioning, and assigned projects. Working independently and the ability to perform and schedule small service projects a plus
Uses a variety of hand tools, interpreting control drawings, plans and specifications, to mount, assemble, test, and program and service Building Management Systems
Analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs direct digital control systems on project sites
Low voltage electrical experience
Performs preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers
Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary
Provides training and follow-up training on customer site
Provides sales leads to appropriate personnel
Documents work by completing service work orders on each job, including daily timesheet, progress work reports, and maintaining files
Records parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused parts
Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner
May represent company by serving as a direct customer contact
Identifies parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
Keeps current on Delta products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair of DDC systems
Provides technical support to customers on assigned projects
Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, completed repairs and maintenance service
Maintains hand tools (supplied by employee) and other special high end tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear and tear
Regular travel to and from assigned projects
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required

Required

5+ relevant experience required
Ability to read, understand, and/or write short and simple correspondence and memos
Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to comprehend technical and mathematical instructions using numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio, and percent
Proficient in using laptop PCs and computer systems
Knowledge and experience in HVAC and Control systems is essential
Read and understand HVAC Drawings, control drawings and electrical drawings
Valid Driver's License
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb a ladder, lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs
This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions
Employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment; to wet and/or humid conditions; to high, precarious places; to fumes or airborne particles; to outside weather conditions; to risk of electrical shock and vibration; to toxic or caustic chemicals; to extreme cold and extreme heat
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
