Responsibilities

Prepare and mix coating formulations using laboratory mixing equipment
Perform drawdowns of formulations using drawdown and drying equipment
Test material properties and performance of coatings, adhesives and films
Compile results and document in laboratory electronic notebook
Analyze data and communicate results to professional staff
Assist the chemist in preparing for pilot scale coating trials
Perform all work in compliance with laboratory environmental, health and safety rules
Adhere to Brady’s Safety, Attendance & other Company policies
Perform all other duties as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the tasks listed on this job description

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of experience
Ability to read and follow written directions
Basic math and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, stand for 80% of a shift, and perform bending, twisting, and reaching tasks
Ability to acquire on-the-job knowledge of chemical formulation, material property testing, and quality tools
Previous experience in a laboratory environment, including accurate documentation of results and technical report writing
Working knowledge of basic statistics (e.g., mean, standard deviation, graphical analysis, hypothesis testing, and control charts)

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree
