Assistant Dean of Alumni Affairs and Development, Bowers College of Computing and Information Science

Cornell University is seeking an Assistant Dean for the Bowers College of Computing and Information Science in their Alumni Affairs and Development division. This role is responsible for planning and implementing development and alumni-relations programs to maximize support for the college, while also serving as the chief development officer and managing the college's alumni affairs and development program.

Responsibilities

Support major and principal gift fundraising efforts for Cornell Bowers, directly and indirectly
Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, within Cornell Bowers and in collaboration with other areas, such as those related to the University’s AI Initiative
Maintain relationships with donors and prospects
Coordinate with development officers on gift proposals and stewardship
Support alumni engagement initiatives
Coordinate alumni events and programs
Assist in maintaining strong relationships with key alumni
Help develop communications strategies for alumni outreach
Support the Dean's office in strategic planning
Manage special projects as assigned
Coordinate with various college departments
Assist in budget planning and monitoring
Serve as liaison between faculty and development initiatives
Support department chairs and faculty in donor interactions
Coordinate faculty involvement in alumni activities
Assist in identifying funding opportunities for faculty initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination
Progressive experience in development, alumni relations, or similar field
Demonstrated supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Position requires regular travel
Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships on behalf of the College and University
Strong ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across units
Demonstrated success in project management and organization
Proficiency with standard office software, databases, and information systems
