Responsibilities

Complete projects from concept and design through transition to production
Take ownership of mechanical aspects of assigned projects
Design Mechanical Aspects of products
Helping to transition products from prototype to production including developing production process and test methods
Coordinating with manufacturers to refine manufacturing processes and ensure products are produced within specification
Diagnosing product failures and implementing corrective actions

Required

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical design experience
Product development experience (low to medium product volume production)
Proficiency in 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred) or similar software
At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience post graduation (This is experience gained after the completion of bachelor's or master's degree)
Ability to commute daily to Belmont, NC
Authorized to work in the United States. (We are unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future.)

Preferred

Robust knowledge of manufacturing techniques including: Injection Molding, Extruding, 3D Printing, Machining, Casting, Laser Cutting, nonperforming
Hands on experience designing, assembling, and testing mechanical assemblies
In depth Materials Knowledge Including Engineered Plastics
FEA and CFD experience, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics
Experience with sealants and adhesives
Strong Computer Skills Including hardware, software, design packages
Comfortable Working in a Lab environment with minimal supervision
Familiarity with Mechanical assembly and use of hand and power tools
Experience with thermal transfer and modeling
LED Lighting Experience
Hold design reviews and provide technical guidance and recommendations to other team members
