Supervisory Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation)
The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces meets the required standards. Responsibilities
Supervise assigned personnel in the office
Provide technical administrative support and oversight of the organization’s processing functions
Coordinate between multiple sections to ensure processing is completed within standards
Manage applicant files/records to include maintaining security of applicant PII and PHI
Provide technical administration and oversight of the processing element
Make recommendations on initiatives to improve military processing functions
Interview candidates to obtain and verify background information
Provide training on various topics to groups and/or individuals
Ensure updates/changes to regulations are communicated to subordinates
Coordinate with others to ensure proper processing of applicants into military service
Qualification
Required
Specialized experience defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Reviewing records for accuracy and completeness; Using automated systems to input and extract data; Providing training to staff on office processes and procedures; Leading a group or team to completion of a project
Your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job
This position requires a qualified typist with a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications, Customer Service, Leadership, Manages and Organizes Information, Technical Competence
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07)
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
One year supervisory probationary period may be required
