Program Finance Specialist

General Dynamics Mission Systems is dedicated to developing solutions that support the mission of service members and first responders. The Program Finance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing ad-hoc analyses, and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition and accounting principles while managing program financials for contracts.

Responsibilities

Review/approve purchase requisitions for budgeted expenses up to an authorized limit and ensure that expenses are applied correctly
Prepare ad-hoc analyses to support contract and program analysts and special projects as assigned
Monitor and ensure ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and Earnings Rate Reviews are in compliance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and GDMS policies, procedures and requirements
Analyze financial performance for assigned program(s) to identify and report on risk and funding issues
Manage program financials for contracts of medium complexity (predominately larger cost plus contracts, cost plus incentive contracts and product lines)
Engage directly with program management to understand financial performance and mitigate program and contractual risks

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree
Ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accounts
In-depth knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Cost Proposal functions
Knowledge of Truth In Negotiations Act, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation, government accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Revenue Recognition ASC 606
Outstanding time-management in order to meet multiple deadlines for various stakeholders

Preferred

Experience in a government contracting environment
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation
