Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to engineering teams across multiple disciplines including systems, mechanical, electrical, software, and test engineering

Oversee system design, integration, verification/validation, and delivery to ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards

Collaborate with program management, operations, and customer stakeholders to align engineering efforts with mission needs

Develop and implement engineering processes, tools, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Serve as the technical authority for the program, providing guidance on design decisions, risk management, and technical trade-offs

Support proposal efforts, including technical volume development, cost estimation, and engineering resource planning

Ensure engineering rigor, compliance, and readiness for technical reviews, audits, and acceptance testing

Foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and professional development within the engineering organization

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field); Master's degree preferred

10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles supporting defense or government programs

Demonstrated success managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams

Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management, and quality assurance standards

Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred

Preferred

PMP or INCOSE certification

Experience supporting USSOCOM, Army, or major acquisition programs

Proficiency in engineering tools and platforms such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, DOORS, or equivalent
