Responsibilities

Design and implement Azure-based database solutions using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Cache for Redis, and Azure Data Factory

Optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability

Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring high availability and data integrity

Automate database deployments and updates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep

Collaborate with development teams to support data modelling, schema design, and query optimization

Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards

Maintain documentation and provide knowledge sharing across teams

Qualification

Required

Proven experience with Azure database services (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL)

Strong proficiency in T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, or equivalent

Experience with performance tuning and query optimization

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for database deployments

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)

Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance (e.g., GDPR)

Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent

Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments

Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes

Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python)
