Start in 2026 SummerCivil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is a top-ranked design and environmental firm seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for their Waste Management Practice in Monroeville, PA. The intern will support engineering tasks related to solid waste landfills and transfer station facilities, both in-office and in the field, while gaining practical experience and collaborating with industry experts.

Responsibilities
Support in-office and field activities primarily associated with solid waste landfills and transfer station facilities
Perform engineering tasks such as tabulating laboratory and field test data, compilation of technical reports, stormwater management system design, and landfill gas collection system design
Conduct Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) tasks such as monitoring and documenting landfill cell, cap, and gas collection system construction, and use of equipment for monitoring landfill emissions
Interact and communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in an undergraduate Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering program
Ability to effectively communicate with people by talking face-to-face and by email
Have organizational skills
Ability to write daily reports
Ability to use Excel Spreadsheets to prepare calculations and analyze data
Willing and able to work in the field
Have a valid driver's license and transportation

Preferred
Prior internship and/or related engineering and construction inspection experience
