Responsibilities

Managing a portfolio of hazard mitigation grants, provide technical assistance to partners, and monitor program compliance
Serving as a regional liaison offering expertise to senior staff and leadership as well as external partners on the delivery of HMGP and HMGP Post Fire
Overseeing the award, implementation, and closeout of grants funding hazard mitigation projects while ensuring compliance with programmatic, financial, and administrative requirements
Providing training and technical assistance to recipients, subrecipients, and other stakeholders to resolve complex grant management issues

Required

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation

You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position
Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying policies, guidelines, and processes related to mitigation programs to provide technical advice and guidance, 2. Managing and/or coordinating the collection, analysis, and presentation of complex data/reports to provide recommendations; and, 3. Leading and facilitating hazard mitigation engagements with State, Local, Tribal and Territorial stakeholders
