Responsibilities

Investigate complex software issues by diving deep into unfamiliar codebases to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
Collaborate with teams across Apple to analyze and improve performance for iOS, macOS, and watchOS on a wide range of hardware
Promote performance best practices and guide teams in designing smooth, efficient features from the ground up
Develop, enhance, and use tools to measure, debug, and optimize system and app performance

Qualification

Required

Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Enjoys working in a team environment
Enjoys debugging or analysis work
Competent at least one object oriented language and at least one scripting language
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or at least 2 years of industry experience

Preferred

Interested in several areas of software (operating systems, graphics, UI Applications, ML, compilers, etc)
Experience with Apple UI Frameworks such as UIKit, AppKit, or SwiftUI
Experience with performance tools such as Instruments or GPU Trace
