Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for injured workers, medical providers, insurers, brokers, internal and external legal counsel, corporate leadership, and regulatory agencies
Develop and maintain a project-specific workers’ compensation claims manual, medical provider panel, and related procedures for both statutory and USL&H claims
Continuously improve claims processes based on lessons learned, legislative updates, court rulings, and Bechtel operational requirements
Support subcontractor CCIP enrollment and deliver workers’ compensation orientation to subcontractor teams
Design and deliver onsite training sessions related to workers’ compensation policies and procedures
Collaborate with the Workers’ Compensation Risk Manager to prepare regular reports on project claims performance and identify early indicators of adverse trends
Oversee and process workers’ compensation claims from initiation through resolution

Required

Deep expertise in workers' compensation and occupational rehabilitation procedures, practices, and processes
Strong knowledge of claims resolution strategies, legal principles related to claims, and all phases of the litigation process
Practical experience with bodily injury claims and both first- and third-party property damage claims
Familiarity with auto and other insured claims handling procedures
Proven ability to work independently, using sound judgment and prior experience to plan and achieve goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus
