Research Lab Technician II
The University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine is seeking a Research Lab Technician II to support its kidney research program. The role involves mouse husbandry, conducting animal studies, and managing lab compliance and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of duties in support of kidney research program
Mouse husbandry procedures including maintenance of breeding colonies, weaning of litters, mouse identification, collection of tissue, blood, and urine, and maintenance of records in a computer database
Assist in planning, performance, and interpretation of animal studies
Perform experimental techniques including mouse surgeries, immunofluorescence, Western blotting, genotyping, quantitative PCR, bioinformatics, and advanced tissue clearing approaches after training
Lab management duties including ensuring animal research regulatory compliance, administration of IACIC protocols, general lab maintenance, ordering and reagent preparation and other duties as assigned or requested
Qualification
Required
Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols
Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data
Preferred
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science
Preferred Experience: 1 year of work in a basic science lab
Preferred Field of Expertise: Kidney and mouse research
