Responsibilities

You will research and administer Federal and state laws, such as the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and state- and local-level pay transparency laws, to ensure that compensation programs are up-to-date and compliant. Prepare and present results of research and partner in implementing changes. Be APL’s resident subject matter expert and point of contact to ensure compliance with complicated FLSA regulations
You will review job requisitions that require FLSA compliance review to ensure clarity and consistency in job duties, maintain classification uniformity across APL, and confirm adherence to FLSA requirements
You will consult with supervisors and HR strategic partners in the interpretation and administration of base and bonus compensation programs to ensure alignment with lab strategy and compliance with audit and regulatory governance
You will partner internally across TSX to design and develop tools, resources and training to increase collective knowledge and education on compensation policies, regulations and practices
You will conduct ad hoc analyses to support business decisions and leadership reporting
You will conduct and present audit findings and recommendations in a clear, data-driven manner

Required

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent years of professional experience
Have a minimum of 5 years compensation experience including an understanding of compensation principles, FLSA classification, and pay equity analysis
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Are able to work independently or across teams on multiple projects with overlapping time frames and shifting priorities successfully
Have strong MS Office with advanced/master Excel skills including formulas, charts, graphs, and pivot tables. Have strong technical skills to work with human resource information system
Can think proactively, identify problems and solutions, and exhibit a high-level of self-initiative
Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with all levels of staff and supervisors
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Identify opportunities to streamline compensation processes, tools, and workflows
Contribute to the continuous improvement of compensation policies and procedures
Hold U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, as required to access APL facilities and networks, subject to applicable laws

Preferred

Have a Master's degree in a related field
Previous experience developing and implementing a job architecture
Certification such as World@Work Certified Compensation Professional
