Responsibilities

Manages the program's budget and resources to scale services effectively and cost-efficiently, while applying advanced problem-solving and independent judgment to address complex, evolving needs
Delivers 1-on-1 and group coaching, leads events and workshops, supervises part-time staff and mentors, and cultivates partnerships with faculty, employers, alumni, and development teams
Uses data to guide decision-making and ensure measurable program impact
Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project/multi-phase career coaching initiatives
Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment
Researches and stays up to date on new industry standards, technologies, policies, and procedures; responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs
Coaches O'Neill graduate students and designs workshops, seminars, and webinars on career planning, resume/cover letter reviews, interviewing, career transitioning, networking, and job search strategies
Supervises part-time coaches, graduate assistants, and identifies and coordinates industry specific career mentors
Builds partnerships with employers and alumni for internships, post-graduation employment, and mentoring programs
Proactively supports evening/weekend events, recruiting, orientations, and travel for conferences/workshop
Provides project oversight and leadership. Influences organizational outcomes that often spans across units/teams and functional areas
Provides guidance and support to junior-level peers
Implements the organization's strategic vision and direction by developing, initiating, and/or supporting new programs and services, creating annual work plans, and operating within a board-approved balanced budget
Ensures the maintenance of effective office management, financial management, record-keeping, and equipment and software
Plans, directs and implements programs or events, including developing branding strategy and targeting audiences for these events
Oversees or represents the program in communications to program participants, supporting institutions, collaborators in other units, community partners, vendors, and the public
Troubleshoots and resolves issues and programs
Provides mechanisms, training, and advice on a variety of issues such as budget management software and advanced strategies for timely spending of grant funds
Oversees research and academic activities budgets for programs. Identifies funding requirements and funding sources to ensure adequate resources to sustain program goals. Leads grant writing
Evaluates the performance of lower-level staff, recommends development and performance plans, promotions, and disciplinary action, and is accountable for consistent administration of university policies
Keeps abreast of best practices to create and implement policies and procedures that deliver a quality program experience

Required

Bachelor's degree
5 years in career services, business, human resources, counseling or related field
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism

Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
Highly thorough and dependable

Preferred

1 year of management experience in related field
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of principles, practices, procedures, and skills necessary to perform in profession or area of specialization
Advanced understanding of organizational technologies and practices
Ability to identify and resolve increasingly complex problems/issues/assignments
Advanced problem-solving skills and techniques and ability to resolve unclear situations, utilizing expertise in specialized field
Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply expert analysis techniques to make decisions
Ability to set priorities and/or sequence of tasks to achieve objectives with minimal oversight
