Responsibilities
Plan and forecast project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource needs to ensure successful delivery and profitability
Lead HVAC and controls technicians, managing daily activities, setting priorities, and ensuring productivity and quality
Oversee execution of mechanical HVAC projects—from design coordination through installation, commissioning, and closeout
Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and cost control
Act as primary client contact, providing updates, resolving challenges, and maintaining long-term relationships
Coordinate manpower and materials, aligning internal and subcontractor resources with project milestones
Enforce safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with ABM policies and all applicable codes and regulations
Anticipate and mitigate risks, resolving issues proactively to keep projects on track
Maintain thorough documentation, including contracts, submittals, RFIs, and financial reports
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating project outcomes and implementing best practices for accuracy and efficiency
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of project management experience required
Proven ability to lead and manage HVAC and controls technicians, driving performance, accountability, and technical excellence
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and build client trust
Self-starter who works independently, prioritizes effectively, and follows through to deliver results with minimal supervision
Strong ability to forecast budgets, labor, and material needs while maintaining financial oversight throughout the project
Solid understanding of mechanical HVAC systems, installation, and commissioning
Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, forecasting, and financial tracking
Preferred
Experience within the HVAC or mechanical contracting industry strongly preferred
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) preferred
PMP certification preferred
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety credential a plus
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
