Responsibilities
Assigns cases to outside counsel and evaluates their performance
Provides legal advice and training to claims personnel to ensure consistent file handling
Controls litigation costs and claim severity
Responds to subpoenas, court orders and other legal requests in compliance with applicable laws and company policies
May attend pertinent trials but is not attorney of record
May provide oversight and supervision to outside counsel on claims-related litigation
Qualification
Required
Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience in Large Loss Litigated Claims, education and training
Must have passed the Bar exam
