EV Charging - Application Engineer - Canadian Market (Must speak French)

Alpitronic, a leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging technology, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Application Engineer to join their dynamic team. The Application Engineer will support customers in deploying EV charging solutions and work closely with the sales department to plan charging infrastructure projects for Canadian clients.

Responsibilities

Utilize Web and PC tools to provide technical support and application assistance during the sales process

Support pre and post-sales activities, including product delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover

Use techniques like data mining, system log analysis, and performance testing to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with chargers

Conduct tests to replicate and isolate issues, then develop solutions to address them

Maintain effective relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure a positive experience throughout the sales process

Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, providing technical support and insights to drive sales

Review and provide inputs on Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) technical specifications

Contribute to shaping technical specifications for product positioning and applications

Work closely with product management, engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on goals and execution plans

Travel to customer locations, trade shows, and potentially international destinations to represent Alpitronic and engage with customers

Visit and build relationships with key personnel at Alpitronic globally

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent related experience in EV charging industry

Bilingual: the successful candidate must be bilingual in French and English, with strong proficiency in both written and oral communication

Minimum of 2 years in a related field, preferably in application engineering within electrical or power electronics industries

Basic understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN bus, and Modbus

Experience in structured testing of R&D products before field deployment, including documenting findings and providing feedback for improvements

Ability to assess customer-specific requirements and translate them into user stories for product development

Demonstrated passion for sustainable technologies

Good presentation skills and successful project management experience

Self-starter with strong communication skills, passionate about their role, and committed to teamwork and achieving results

Preferred

Digital Hardware Knowledge: Awareness of digital hardware, power electronics control, and circuit theory is beneficial

Experience in the electric vehicle (EV), Battery energy storage or commercial solar industry is highly desirable
