Supportive Services Coordinator
The Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago is dedicated to eliminating new HIV transmissions. The Supportive Services Coordinator will manage a caseload, providing resource counseling and support to community members, particularly those affected by HIV.

Responsibilities
Calling community members and conducting resource counseling, completing all related documentation and notes, and researching appropriate and individualized resources for community members, specifically resources for people of color and those who identify as LGBQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer) and TGNC (transgender and gender non-conforming)
Work with community members over the phone or in person
Assist with day to day Supportive Services tasks, such as rapid response support for those who are seeking same-day treatment and will conduct assessments and safety plans for community members in distress
Support for evenings and weekend events where supportive services is requested
Assists with and performs various administrative and operational tasks under direct supervision
Uses knowledge of clinical studies to coordinate the collection of analyzable clinical research data and/or samples
Performs other related work as needed
Qualification
Required
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree)
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred
Advanced degree in related field
Experience working with and/or providing care to LGBT populations, Black and Latino community members, providing HIV/STI treatment and/or prevention
Demonstrated effective leadership and teaching skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong knowledge of Chicago social service resources
Strong knowledge of program subject matter
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Ability and/or willingness to provide HIV/STI treatment, education, and prevention in non-traditional settings (community venues)

Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills
Ability to travel to various community venues across the metropolitan area
Ability to perform phlebotomy or a willingness to be trained in phlebotomy
Ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to work non-traditional hours
