Responsibilities
Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance by verifying the accuracy of methods and controls according to GAAP
Manage SAP integrity and ensure the accuracy of transactions performed with the receiving and payment of goods in the accounting system
Oversee month end closing processes: journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, systems interface, inter-company balancing, and allocations inventory control
Ensure that clerks and technicians are performing their duties properly and efficiently
Oversee capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairment of assets
Maintain the fixed asset register/roll forward and ensure reconciliation with the general ledger
Ensure compliance with lease accounting standards (ASC 842)
Manage lease classification, valuation, and amortization schedules & coordinate with legal and operations teams to track lease modifications and renewals
Manage the lease process to ensure policies and procedures are being followed globally
Manage the global reconciliation tool to include working collaboratively with the segments to ensure all account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed monthly
Lead and manage a team of accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Ensure adequate review and supervision of assigned tasks to maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Conduct regular performance evaluations to support professional development and continuous improvement
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting best practices in financial reporting and analysis
Serve as audit liaison for both Internal and External auditors and manage SOX activities for the Corporate Accounting Group
Identify areas of improvement within the accounting department to increase efficiencies and develop streamlined accounting processes, implementing solutions accordingly
Perform other duties as necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and/or experience
6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience
1-3 years of management experience
CPA certification preferred
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field
Focused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact
Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively
High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products
Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once
High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures
