Hyundai Service Technician

O'Gara Coach is seeking a Hyundai Service Technician responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work in accordance with dealer and factory standards. This role also involves overseeing apprentice technicians and ensuring high-quality service and communication with customers and dealership personnel.

Responsibilities

Receives Repair Orders from dispatchers on computer terminal and takes vehicle to stall areas
Performs work outlined on Repair Orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory
Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
Informs Service Manager if vehicle is down awaiting parts, and pursue special ordering of parts, if appropriate
Examines the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
Informs Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
Diagnoses cause of any malfunctions and performs repairs, if authorized by the customers
Road tests vehicles to quality check work performed as required
Monitors promised times and advises if there will be a problem meeting a deadline as soon as it becomes apparent
Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the Service Department
Maintains an inventory of normal Technician's tools, not normally inventoried by the Service Department as 'special tools'
Keeps workspace neat, clean, and organized
Produces high quality work that displays pride of workmanship
Reviews technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management
Participates and utilize technical training as requested by management
Attends training classes as directed by management
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Qualification

ASE certificationProficient mechanical skillsDealership computer systemsCommunication skillsTeam player

Required

High school diploma or the equivalent
Must have a valid California Driver's license and be insurable
Proficient mechanical skills
Ability to collaborate with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time
Ability to collaborate with other dealership personnel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient knowledge of dealership computer systems
Must be a team player with impeccable honesty and integrity
Maintain a high level of professional personal appearance and conduct
