Responsibilities

Record payment transactions in the agency system to verify payment accuracy and assist in closing old balances
Prepare and deliver daily payment lists for all payments methods
Assist in preparing general journal entries for various business transactions under the guidance of accounting staff
Support reconciliation of payables with our binding authority to ensure accurate bordereaux payments
Prepare and review expense reclassification entries in the agency software
Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations by identifying, researching, and assisting in resolving discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with financial reporting standards
Process and reconcile claims and survey payables in accordance with financial regulations, insurance syndicate policies, and company guidelines
Document accounting process and general journal entry procedures ensuring consistent publishing and referencing of documentation/file save location

Required

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Must be junior or senior standing at the time of the internship
Must be able to work full-time in Miami, FL (33126) during the summer with the potential opportunity to extend work part-time during the school year
Must have strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
