08 - Lead Engineer, Software (Austin)

The Lead Engineer, Software is responsible for developing and deploying Network Operating System (NOS) software for switches and routers, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development.

Responsibilities
Work as a team member who understands/interprets technical problems and provides technical support
Solve assigned problems under guidance of more senior engineers
Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies
Test software development methodology (may be done in agile environment)
Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers including Peer-Reviews to achieve elegant solutions
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
Qualification
Required
6 to 10 years of experience
Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong background in NOS architecture and L2/L3 protocol development
Networking Stack- Layer-2(xSTP, LLDP, LACP etc), Layer-3 (BGP, OSPF, PIM etc), IPSec, IKE, GRE, EVPN/VxLAN, MPLS, QoS
Management -SNMP, Netconf/Yang, REST, CLI, gNMI, gRPC
System Features - Platform Bringup (Including implementing linux Device drivers), Stacking, High Availability etc
Programming Language - C, C++, Python, GoLang languages
NOS - Experience in NOS development/sustenance
Demonstrate 'Individual Leadership Behaviors' as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives
Solid understanding of Celestica's budgeting and accounting system and the cost accounting practices relevant to engineering work
Ability to communicate clearly and timely all aspects of work that may have an influence on the profitability of the project
Coaching/Mentoring; Communication/Negotiation/Presentation; Creative Problem Solving; Customer Interaction/Stakeholder Management; Quality & Lean; Working Effectively with Others; D/PFMEA; 8D/Corrective Action; Equipment Safety; Design of Experiments (DOE)

Working experience with Broadcom preferred but not required - XGS/DNX family of Devices and/or Marvell - Innovium/Prestera Family of devices
