TES Technician/Manual Laborer
Auburn University is seeking a TES Technician/Manual Laborer for a temporary assignment to assist with manual labor and equipment operation. The role involves maintaining the property through various methods including weed control, soil mixing, and plant production, while working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities
Assist with manual labor and equipment operation such as lawn mowers, edgers, string trimmers, pruners, soil mixers, tractors, golf carts/utility vehicles, trucks, chainsaw, etc
Maintain the property through weed control either through mechanical (hand weeding or tools) or chemical control (pesticides)
Help mix soil, plant, fertilize, prune, and any other aspects of plant production
Travel with station staff to do fieldwork or assist with projects at surrounding research stations
Spend most of their time working outside in potentially extreme weather 100+ degrees on some days
Assist and help maintain, plant, take data, measurements, etc. on current research projects
Work alone or in small groups depending on the current job
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license
Ability to consistently lift 25-50lbs
Able to work in various weather conditions (including in heat and humidity)
Ability to be at work on time
Ability to work alone with minimal direction or in group settings
Able to operate equipment and tools or able to learn how
Ability to listen and effectively record data
