Responsibilities

Help maintain and expand the stability and functionality of our hosted Postgres offering
Work closely with customers, partners, product, engineering, support and success
Maintain a secure, stable, performant, and functional Postgres foundation
Bring deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and hands-on experience building extensions in C and Rust
Understand how PostgreSQL works under the hood - from the parser and planner to WAL mechanics and MVCC implementation
Diagnose issues with custom extensions, analyze core dumps, and resolve performance problems
Build testing and own idempotent deployment to many thousands of running postgres instances
Work with complex extension ecosystems and understand extension compatibility, upgrade paths, and potential conflicts
Utilize PostgreSQL's background worker framework, shared memory management, and hook system

Required

5+ years of experience postgres security, encryption, RLS and permissions
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals
Hands-on experience building extensions in C and Rust
Understanding of how PostgreSQL works under the hood - from the parser and planner to WAL mechanics and MVCC implementation
Strong troubleshooting skills for managed PostgreSQL deployments
Diagnosing issues with custom extensions
Analyzing core dumps
Resolving performance problems
Comfortable building testing and owning idempotent deployment to many thousands of running postgres instances
Understanding of complex extension ecosystems
Understanding of extension compatibility, upgrade paths, and potential conflicts
Experience with PostgreSQL's background worker framework
Experience with shared memory management
Experience with hook system
Ability to communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience in async or globally distributed teams
Energized by solving real-world problems for developers
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving quickly
