Responsibilities
Provide engineering/technical expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems
Effectively plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities
Produce thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, documentation, and calculations
Support continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge
Understand and create substation physical arrangement drawing packages for construction
Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and interact with internal engineers
Monitor deliverables, schedules, and present solutions to clients
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution
5-7 years of experience in power delivery engineering in the electrical industry
Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license within one year
Strong understanding of substation design, including equipment arrangements, grounding, and construction requirements
Experience creating substation physical design project scopes, estimates, and schedules
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and standards
Preferred
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with NCEES record
Advanced understanding of substation design for utility stations up to 500kV
Ability to perform bus calculations, lightning protection calculations, and use software for ground grid designs
Experience leading a team of engineers and designers
Knowledge of installation requirements for high voltage transformers, disconnect switches, breakers, and other equipment
Field experience in construction environments implementing or verifying engineering drawings
