They are seeking a Senior Design Stress Engineer to lead and perform stress analyses of nuclear pressure vessels and other engineered products, while collaborating with various engineering disciplines to optimize designs.

Responsibilities

Lead and Perform stress analyses of nuclear pressure vessels and other highly engineered products

Utilize and conduct finite element analysis, custom post-processing software, and closed form analytical techniques

Perform and lead standard and advanced structural analysis methods including linear elastic sizing, fatigue, elastic-plastic, fracture mechanics, shock and vibration, and thermal/mechanical

Review and lead work for accuracy and compliance with technical requirements

Work with members of other engineering disciplines (manufacturing, quality, welding, drafters, thermal-fluids, etc.) in a team environment to generate component designs to meet code requirements and to optimize the design for manufacturability

Work closely with on-site manufacturing to resolve real time fabrication related issues

Communicate effectively in internal and customer presentations and written technical reports

Lead efforts to reduce cost and span of current components
