Provides vision, forward thinking and strategic planning in a proactive manner while being open-minded and creative in establishing a strategic direction; develops through an integration of ideas of those involved, an organized strategy to achieve both short and long term objectives for the department; effectively communicates strategy to obtain commitment by the responsible individuals
Leads the strategic planning process for the respective department
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy operations across Onvida Health’s campuses and outpatient services
Develop and implement long-term strategic plans that align with Onvida Health’s overarching goals, ensuring that pharmacy services contribute to organizational growth, cost control, and innovation in patient care
Collaborate with system leadership, physicians, and clinical operations managers to evaluate emerging healthcare trends, new technologies, and expansion opportunities
Lead the development and execution of multi-campus pharmacy services strategies, ensuring integration across all service lines and alignment with clinical and business goals
Promote and champion the role of pharmacy in the broader healthcare system, focusing on new service areas, market expansion, and delivery of value-based care
Demonstrates a personal accountability for financial results through development of an annual budget and operational plan and management of performance based on plan; engages staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services; understands the basics of health care financial management
Establishes budget targets for department, provides oversight for the process, and holds self and other individuals accountable for compliance with annual budget plan
Identifies program or service growth opportunities and methodologies to enhance revenues
Able to manage to a volume adjusted budget
Oversee the development and management of the department’s annual budget, ensuring effective cost containment, revenue growth, and financial sustainability across all pharmacy services
Implement and refine financial tracking processes to ensure optimal resource allocation, cost-effectiveness, and volume-adjusted performance goals
Collaborate with finance, business development, and clinical teams to identify new revenue-generating opportunities and service expansions, especially in outpatient pharmacy services

Ensure transparent and consistent reporting on quality metrics, clinical outcomes, and community benefit activities to system leadership and regulatory bodies

Continuously evaluate operational processes to identify areas for improvement, working cross-functionally to implement changes that increase efficiency and reduce waste

Required

Education: Pharm.D. or equivalent advanced pharmacy degree
Arizona Pharmacist license
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy leadership, including experience managing multiple campuses or service lines
At least 3 years of supervisory and strategic management experience in a health system
Demonstrated success in leading complex pharmacy operations and services across multiple settings (inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory care)
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and performance management
Proven track record in leading change, driving strategic initiatives, and optimizing operational efficiency
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across diverse teams
Deep knowledge of pharmacy-related regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and patient safety standards
Experience with community outreach and promoting pharmacy services in regional healthcare settings

Preferred

Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field
Board certification in clinical pharmacy or leadership (e.g., BCPS, BCACP)
