Start in 2026 SummerCivil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is a Top 500 Design Firm and Top 200 Environmental Firm. They are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support solid waste management practices through both in-office engineering tasks and field activities related to landfill and transfer station facilities.

Responsibilities
Support in-office and field activities primarily associated with solid waste landfills and transfer station facilities
Engineering tasks such as tabulating laboratory and field test data
Compilation of technical reports
Stormwater management system design
Landfill gas collection system design
Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) tasks such as monitoring and documenting landfill cell, cap, and gas collection system construction
Use of equipment for monitoring landfill emissions
Interact and communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in an undergraduate Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering program
Ability to effectively communicate with people by talking face-to-face and by email
Have organizational skills
Ability to write daily reports
Ability to use Excel Spreadsheets to prepare calculations and analyze data
Willing and able to work in the field
Have a valid driver's license and transportation

Preferred
Prior internship and/or related engineering and construction inspection experience
