Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is looking for a Business Systems Lead to join their Information Technology team. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define problems, identify requirements, and develop innovative solutions to enhance business performance through technology.

Responsibilities

Proactively build relationships with DEPCOM stakeholders with the goal of seeking to understand and anticipate business IT needs in line with the business goals and vision

Conduct process mapping, gap analysis and impact assessments to identify opportunities for improvement or innovation

Work cross functionally within DEPCOM to seek alternative viewpoints on identified issues in the business such as process gaps, and technology pain points

Effectively gather and document detailed business requirements to determine the scope of effort to solution, and develop functional specifications

Creatively problem solve by interpreting data, analyze findings and perform internal and external research to draw conclusions on innovative solutions for identified business problems

Collaborate across IT teams (application development, infrastructure, and support) and with DEPCOM stakeholders to determine the best solutions by researching alternatives, performing functional analysis, coordinating demos, , driving experiments, and implementing business transformation projects

Ensure IT systems and applications comply with internal policies, standards and regulatory requirements

Drive decision making when analyzing alternative solutions for business problems and the potential barriers / risks / consequences they could impose on the business and the enterprise architecture associated

Serve as the primary liaison between DEPCOM stakeholders, IT teams, vendors and Leadership on status, risks and roadblocks, and aid team members to overcome obstacles by working collaboratively

Manage change control processes and maintain thorough documentation of system updates, upgrades, retirements and implementation

Lead the product lifecycle for key IT systems, from ideation through deployment and continuous improvement

Monitor system and application performance and conduct user feedback to inform iterative improvements with the goal of optimizing / simplifying the overall business tech stack

Prioritize, manage and execute against a focused backlog to deliver highest value initiatives in a timely manner

Partner with stakeholders and team members to facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement and team retrospectives

Stay current on technologies and best practices, ensuring that we are leveraging the best knowledge to achieve success

Required

Understanding of software development regarding design, configuration, testing and implementation

Ability to manage competing priorities and drive consensus in complex environments

Experience understanding and diagraming complex business processes, gathering functional requirements, providing support and guidance to internal IT teams and external vendors as they develop technical solutions

Experience building trusted relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs, influence and gain alignment on objectives

Ability to guide stakeholders through problem definition, requirements gathering, conceptual experimentation and implementation

Ability to drive and achieve improvement opportunities focusing on root cause analysis to enable self-serve, automation, eliminating old process and technologies, and continuous optimization of our long-term valued systems

Experience working with software vendors or software development to solve business needs
