Ecosystem Restoration Programs Director
The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council is seeking an Ecosystem Restoration Programs Director to provide senior level leadership and supervisory support to the Chief Operating Officer. This role involves managing the Council's $3 billion plus restoration programs and ensuring adherence to environmental compliance and science-based decision-making.

Responsibilities
Lead Program staff in providing programmatic support to Council funding decisions
Maintain responsibility over the drafting of the RESTORE Council Comprehensive Plan commitments, including implementing a regional ecosystem-based approach to restoration, leveraging resources and partnerships, overseeing science-based decision-making, delivering results, and measuring impacts
Respond to inquiries from the eleven (11) Council members related to Gulf-wide ecosystem restoration planning and implementation, environmental compliance of funded projects, and related policies
Play a key role in maintaining and advancing a science-guided approach to regional ecosystem restoration within the Gulf of America in adherence with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education
One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service
Developing, maintaining, and advancing a science guided approach to regional ecosystem restoration
Managing ecosystem restoration programs
Communicating technical scientific ecosystem restoration information to non-technical audiences
Facilitating decision-making within diverse groups to achieve a common balance
Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
A one year probationary period may be required
A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment
