Responsibilities
Program C.N.C. machines
Maintain and update all N.C. program files
Supply machine operators with set-up and run information as required
Design, draw, and coordinate large tooling fixtures and tooling masters for use on machines
Create flat patterns in order to machine parts
Improve on old N.C. computer programs to increase productivity and ease of machining
Act as liaison between Engineering, Methods and Manufacturing departments
Convert drawing files to Iges files for the Shoda and N.C. Punch machines
Design and program form dies
Export and import computer files to other companies for use in building Company fixtures and parts
Write post processors for our existing and new machines
Research new tooling for the N.C. machines (inserts, toolholders, etc.)
Interface with various departments and advise with technical information and guidance
Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate
Attend training as required
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in a computer programming or related field
At least five years' experience with three years N.C. machining experience
Two years' experience Unigraphics
Thorough understanding of machining, sheet metal flat pattern layout, and computer programming
Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
