Responsibilities
Performs all duties in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards
Develops program guides that address the audit objectives and provide a clear path for developing convincing findings and actionable recommendations
Develops and coordinates project plans, including assisting supervisor in developing budgets and timelines for upcoming projects
Communicates project status to supervisor and senior agency officials on a regular basis
Works with staff auditors to prepare clear, concise, and complete work papers. Plans, coordinates, conducts, and reports on audits
Exercises technical direction over the collection and analysis of all data; ensuring that evidence collected is sufficient and appropriate
Prepares and reviews staff audit reports, completes work papers, and provides written recommendations

Financial Management Certification: This position requires DoD Financial Management Level 3 certification within 2 years in accordance with DoD Instruction 1300.26, DoD Directive 5118.03 and section 1599d of Title 10, U.S.C
A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge
Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality
A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled
Providing coordination, coaching, problem solving, and facilitation of interpersonal communication
Independently compose, present, and defend audit results to senior management verbally and in writing
Leading audit projects, writing and presenting audit findings
Experience in conducting audits in accordance with GAGAS (Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards) or similar standards
