3+ years expRuli is building an AI-powered legal intelligence platform aimed at transforming the enterprise legal market. As a founding engineer, you will be responsible for building and scaling AI-driven systems and collaborating with product engineers to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
Build and scale AI-driven search & ranking systems
Develop backend infrastructure to handle document-heavy workloads
Work closely with product engineers to translate customer needs into features
Work on document pipelines, OCR, and RAG
Collaborate directly with founders and customers to ship fast and drive product direction
Example challenge: Design a system that can automatically find and compare similar clauses across millions of past contracts
Qualification
Required
3-7 years of experience. Early stage startup or ex-founder experience is required for this role
Hustler mindset; comfortable in a fast-paced, 50~60+ hours/week startup
Previous backend experience, ideally at an early stage startup
Proficient in Python / Typescript
Previous AI search and ranking experience
Familiarity with serverless infrastructure and LLM prompt engineering
Experience with Elasticsearch and document-heavy systems
OCR/document parsing experience (huge plus)
