The Keith Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform technical and mechanical functions at a correctional facility. The role involves maintaining the property for maximum efficiency and addressing facility management issues while ensuring a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

Maintain lighting fixtures and ballasts

Repair, replace, and/or maintain 115V convenience outlets

Assist in more complex repairs and additions to electrical systems

Ability to operate and perform tests on electronic systems (Fire alarm, security, timers)

Repair flush valve on toilets and keep properly maintained

Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all plumbing issues throughout the facility, including roof drains, storm drains, faucets, valves, and water filters

Clear drainage/sewage stoppages using appropriate equipment and methods

Repair and assemble furniture

Change Ventilation Filters

Perform lubrication of motors/pumps/fans

Assist in the repair of HVAC system equipment

Perform cleaning of refrigeration equipment coils

Maintain and clean mechanical rooms and equipment to maintain in like new condition

Complete corrective/preventative maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner

Perform painting as needed/assigned

Perform cleaning/janitorial functions or supervise

Perform event setups and take-downs

Assist in installing new equipment for the facility

Respond to On-Call emergency repair work or after-hours

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Maintain supply and materials in stock, organize and replenish

Maintain and clean mechanical rooms and equipment

Assist other trades/technicians where assigned and/or needed

Ability to locate and shut off valves and electrical circuits in an emergency

Attend and actively participate in staff/safety meetings

Maintain all logs per ACA requirements as applicable

Open, document action taken and close on demand and preventative maintenance work requests using a PC and PDA

Perform other assignments as needed and/or assigned

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

1-3 years of progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of a commercial building, educational environment, correctional facility or health care facility preferred

This position will be required to perform at a semi-skilled level for at least one of the following: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry, and Painting, with the ability to learn and become skilled or semi-skilled at the others

Fluent in English language to speak, read and write clearly

Valid driver's license
