InternCTB, Inc. is seeking an intern to join their Des Moines LeMar Engineering Team, where the primary focus will be on assisting in the design of high-quality structural products. The role involves supporting the development of structural product lines and gaining valuable experience in structural engineering practices.

Responsibilities
Assist in exploring/developing updates to current structural product lines
Assist in updating sample calculations for structural products
Assist in building tools to make project estimation/quoting as well as engineering design faster
Gain experience using building codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, OSHA 1910, etc
Gain experience calculating structural loads and strengths of steel members and connections
Gain experience reading structural drawings
Gain experience checking shop drawings, such as weld details, dimensions, and tolerances
Observe the steel fabrication process, taking engineered designs and seeing them take shape
Qualification
Required
Some College education in a related field
Experience or knowledge of building codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, OSHA 1910
Ability to calculate structural loads and strengths of steel members and connections
Ability to read structural drawings
Ability to check shop drawings, such as weld details, dimensions, and tolerances
