Process Development Engineer

Responsibilities
Develop Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI)
Create manufacturing routers and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in an ERP & MES system
Ensures technical drawings, specifications, work instructions and test processes meet customer & company requirements
Interacts with customers to obtain and provide technical information
Create reports and status project updates
Create labor standard hours/Time-Standards
Interpret engineering and technical information
Creates and maintains new design data
Supports implementation/evolution of Digital Product Design ( DPD) and Model Based Definition ( MBD)
Supports Engineering & Manufacturing technology roadmap
Research and reviews specifications for Request for Quote ( RFQs)
Performs tooling reviews and capability analysis
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar)
5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the principles and practice of engineering
Able to identify and resolve pre-production issues
Experience with 3D CAD software to interpret model-based definitions and digital product designs
General mechanical assembly analysis, testing and qualification experience
Mechanical assembly component selection and qualification experience
Capability to solve complex design problems with minimal supervision
Strong ability to work with teams with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent written and communication skills
Strong sense of personal accountability and drive to succeed
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
Preferred
Knowledge of aerospace specifications and common industry practices both in commercial and military aerospace sectors
Solidworks or CATIA experience
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
