The Aircraft Structures Internship provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in structural inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of aircraft while receiving training from experienced technicians.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
Performs structural repairs and modifications
Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of work
Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
Continually keeps clean and organized work area
Understands and follows safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner to accomplish work
Performs other duties as directed
Qualification
Required
Minimum two (2) years' experience in general / military aviation required
Minimum two (2) years' performing structural repairs and modifications required
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Effective oral and written communication skills
Positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor
Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
Selected candidates must obtain command approval for participation and provide approval documentation NLT 10 business days prior to start date
Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level
Must have the ability for climbing and bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working at heights
Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and 25 pounds overhead
Preferred
Airframe certification preferred
