Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the Chief Credit Officer by reviewing large and complex loans prior to submission to CCO
Communicate with CCO on deal pipeline, portfolio issues and any other material matters
Consistently apply good decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development
Assist in reviewing and updating credit policies and procedures
Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations
Review legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency with approved terms and conditions
Perform periodic assessments of concentration limits and concentration risk to local economy and periodic local economic analysis. Assist with preparation and review of quarterly portfolio reviews
Oversee loan grading process to ensure loans are properly risk rated. Assist in workout credits assigned to the department and prepares LAPSR’s for criticized loans, as well as preparing monitoring reports for Watch credits. Assist Loan Officers in the management of weak credits
Perform post mortems on charged off loans
Update and correspond with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken
Work directly with the Bank’s overall Portfolio Credit Risk Management function providing data inputs, quality control correction and feedback, dashboard reporting, and execution of corporate efforts surrounding Credit Portfolio Stress Testing, Dual Risk Rating procedures, concentration management and related Portfolio Credit Risk Management processes
Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development
Qualification
Required
8+ years of related experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services
Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
Advanced speaking and writing communication skills
