The role involves supporting the medical mission of the DoD by addressing complex network infrastructure requirements and providing high-level management and troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN communication equipment.

Responsibilities
Identify and resolve larger, more complex LAN/WLAN/WAN network problems and issues
Research network-level problems using network management tools
Provide high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN communication equipment for all DHA networked facilities within the Pacific Region
Serve as the regional point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection
Advise and consult with government staff, agencies, and other contractor representatives involved with LAN/WLAN/WAN design, network implementation, network deployment, and network management
Interface with and lead Network Specialists and internal or external organizations to resolve LAN/WLAN/WAN issues
Resolve technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the OSI model using diagnostics and network administration tools
Be capable of establishing and configuring network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
Provide written recommendations to personnel in the field by making either a change to network-level operations or an enhancement to the network
Establish and implement LAN/WLAN/WAN procedures and standards to ensure compliance with DoD, DHA, and DHA Pacific Regional Command objectives and policies
Communicate with key customers on the status of all network support requests
Evaluate and resolve complex technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the OSI model using diagnostics and network administration tools
Provide proactive input on policies and issues related to standardization, and develop and write policies and procedures that identify best practice solutions necessary for operations in support of the LAN/WLAN/WAN
Define and establish minimum standards related to LAN/WLAN/WAN access and its impact on overall network operations
Lead/participate in other projects, providing support as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience in LAN/WLAN/WAN network design, implementation, and management
Proficiency in using network management tools such as Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible
Understanding of Management Information Blocks (MIB) and MRTG
Ability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
Experience in troubleshooting complex network issues at all levels of the OSI model
Ability to provide written recommendations and document changes to network-level operations
Knowledge of DoD, DHA, and DHA Pacific Regional Command objectives and policies
Experience in leading and participating in network-related projects
