Personal Injury and Worker’s Compensation Coordinator
Advanced Spine And Pain (ASAP) is a medical practice focused on providing care for personal injury and worker’s compensation patients. The Personal Injury and Worker’s Compensation Coordinator is responsible for maintaining patient accounts, scheduling appointments, and serving as a liaison between patients and third parties involved in cases.

Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining all worker’s compensation and personal injury patient accounts
Scheduling all appointments, new patients, follow ups, procedures, etc
Maintaining and staying up on managing authorizations, internal and external referrals
Monitor daily folders to ensure proper scheduling and maximum efficiency
Monitor order flow daily to ensure efficiency and timely patient follow up
Assist in maintaining the groups inbound fax and info email box
Serve as a liaison to referring offices, adjustors, lien holders and attorneys to build relationships
Meet metrics as set forth within the department
Provides individualized care, which encourages the patient’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being
Answers the inbound line for the team in a consistent pleasant manner
Uploading documents into the patients charts and ensure all appropriate documentation has been collected and signed accordingly
Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for this position
Fosters a positive and professional procedural environment by interacting with all people in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner and by participating as a team member
Consistently maintain proper documentation within the EMR regarding the referrals, authorizations, and its details
Diligently notifying and following up with patients and external entities as needed within a timely manner regarding their referral(s) and appointments
Provides official documents and quotes to various entities and submits claims for services rendered for any ASAP entities
Responsible for pulling and returning voicemails within 2 hours
Maintains HIPAA
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma / GED Certification
Three to five years' work experience in a medical office setting
One to two years work experience with personal injury or worker's compensation cases
Working knowledge of all aspects of the scheduling and referral departments of a medical practice
Strong office and computer skills, experience with paperless workflows
Prior use of practice management and EMR programs
Skilled communicator and ability to work effectively in resolving problems
Solid organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to quickly resolve conflict in a respectful manner
Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude
Ability to interact with management, physicians, and teammates at all levels and effectively and professionally
Ability to communicate in oral and written form
Ability to be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion
Ability to act as gatekeeper and escalate relevant information to executives as needed
Good visual acuity, accurate color vision
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
