Emergency Management Specialist (Public Assistance)

Responsibilities

Collecting, organizing, and reviewing Applicant-submitted documentation in support of Public Assistance grants where work is complete
Reviewing and validating Applicant-submitted documentation in support of Public Assistance grants where work is complete
Developing damage description and dimensions, scopes of work, and costs based on Applicant-provided documentation
Identifying missing information and coordinating with counterparts to resolve
Identifying potential eligibility issues and addressing those issues in coordination with leadership in field and Consolidated Resource Center offices

Required

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation
Selective Service registration required
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card
You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Public Assistance) position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: 1. Providing guidance to stakeholders about recovery issues; and 2. Collaborating with stakeholders to collect, organize, and maintain information; and 3. Utilizing submitted documentation to develop a written product, such as a grant
To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Public Assistance) position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: 1. Providing policy guidance to stakeholders on administrative management and/or records; and 2. Coordinating with stakeholders to collect, organize, and maintain information; and 3. Managing priorities to achieve organizational goals

Preferred

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
