The role involves drafting low voltage engineering designs, evaluating building and electrical codes, and coordinating with other engineers while interacting with clients.
Design
Responsibilities
Use Autodesk software (Revit and AutoCAD) to draft low voltage engineering designs for projects, as well as other applicable software
Develop and improve proficiency in evaluating and applying the requirements of building and electrical codes, BISCI, TIA and Public Safety DAS standards to projects
Develop skills as a specifier of low voltage equipment and devices, including camera, access control, communications audio-visual systems
Evaluate/review shop drawing and equipment submittals
Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineers for requirements of low voltage systems
Routinely interact with clients in verbal and written form
Qualification
Required
Recent graduate with a passion for building design
Ability to use Autodesk software (Revit and AutoCAD) to draft low voltage engineering designs for projects
Proficiency in evaluating and applying the requirements of building and electrical codes, BISCI, TIA and Public Safety DAS standards to projects
Skills as a specifier of low voltage equipment and devices, including camera, access control, communications audio-visual systems
Ability to evaluate/review shop drawing and equipment submittals
Coordination with electrical and mechanical engineers for requirements of low voltage systems
Ability to interact with clients in verbal and written form
Strong problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Flexible, adaptive and collaborative
Ability to prioritize and work effectively under time constraints
Preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Proficiency in Autodesk software is a plus (Revit and AutoCAD)
