Zell Intern
The New Jewish Home is seeking interns to join their Client Experience and Meaningful Life Department on the Manhattan campus. The role involves assisting staff in running meaningful engagement activities with residents both one-on-one and in group settings.
Health Care
Responsibilities
Assist staff with on-unit activities including sing-along, music appreciation, exercise, dance, games, crafts etc
Provide one-on-one interactions such as reading to resident, Music & Memory, Technology, letter writing, games, and conversation
Assist with transportation to off-unit programming
Assist with off-unit programs as needed but not limited to: transporting residents to and from program, and decorating the auditorium
Assist with hanging monthly Activity Calendars and decorating communities
Assists in guiding volunteers and volunteer group projects
Coaches and mentors new volunteers
Takes an active role in new volunteer onboarding, i.e. communication with potential volunteers, assisting with tracking and transitioning into registered volunteers
Assists with Volunteer Office clerical functions, such as logistics, record keeping, ID making
Position shift includes weekends/evenings, 20-23 hours part time per week
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 15 years old
Must be a high school or college student
Must have previous volunteer or intern experience at The New Jewish Home
